TenarisSilcotub hosts in Zalău an event dedicated to suppliers addressing the topic of decarbonization and the circular economy
TenarisSilcotub, the leading manufacturer of seamless steel pipes of small diameters in Romania, hosted the Environment Awareness Day event. The objectives of the event were to raise awareness among its strategic suppliers regarding the issue of decarbonization and the circular economy, create an open space to share experiences and action plans, also identify solutions that support sustainable development.
The event took place on February 15th, at TenarisUniversity in Zalău and brought together over 40 suppliers from 10 countries.
TenarisSilcotub is implementing measures to decarbonize its operations and continues to develop low-carbon products and services.
"We have embarked on an important path, with Tenaris committing to plans to reduce CO2 emissions per tonne of steel produced by 30% (vs. 2018) by 2030. The main classes of actions are aimed at increased use of alternative materials, responsible consumption of primary resources, increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy both directly and indirectly" said Mihaela Popescu, President of TenarisSilcotub.
"Our partners, both suppliers and customers, play a crucial role, and we believe that by working together we can make a difference in reducing CO2 emissions", she added.
